WASH YOUR HANDS. Use clean running water (hot or cold) and soap to scrub all surfaces of your hands for at least 20 seconds before your ride, and again when you arrive at your destination.
SANITIZE YOUR HANDS & THE SURROUNDING AREA. If soap is unavailable, use an alcohol-based disinfectant containing at least 70% alcohol to sanitize your hands. Sanitize frequently touched areas like door handles and seat belts at the beginning of your ride.
IDENTIFYING INFORMATION. Information is provided about drivers and their vehicles like their license plate number, vehicle make and model, profile picture, and name. Always check your ride against the information provided and don't get into a car with a driver who doesn’t match identifying information.
REQUEST AND WAIT INDOORS. Opt to request and wait for your ride while in a safe location. Avoid waiting alone outside at night, especially in unfamiliar areas or neighborhoods that are not well lit.
CHECK YOUR DRIVER’S RATING. If your driver does not have a positive rating, or has few to no prior trips, do not hesitate to cancel and place another request for a more experienced driver with positive feedback.
UNWANTED CONTACT. Alert the ride-hailing company immediately if a driver contacts you for any reason other than an active trip.
TRUST YOUR INTUITION. If something doesn’t feel right, do not enter the vehicle or opt to end your trip early. Find a populated area or open business where you can safely wait for another driver, and don’t forget to share the details of your experience.
LIMIT CONTACT - Always sit in the back seat and avoid having multiple passengers if possible. Remain six feet from your driver if riding in a larger vehicle. Do not take items from your driver like magazines or water bottles.
WEAR A FACE COVERING. Especially in smaller vehicles where it’s difficult to maintain social distancing. Protect other passengers by wearing a cloth face mask that covers both your nose and mouth for the duration of your ride.
COVER YOUR MOUTH & NOSE. If you sneeze or cough, please do so into a tissue. Hold onto used tissues and properly dispose once arriving at your destination. If you need to cough or sneeze and do not have a tissue, do so into your elbow, not your hands.
ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW. Protect yourself and other riders from airborne transmission of harmful pathogens. If possible, roll down your window to improve air circulation for yourself and other riders.
FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT. Seat belts are one of the most effective ways to save lives and reduce injuries related to car crashes. All riders—including those in the back seat—should buckle up. Riders should request a car that has enough seat belts for everyone in their party.
UNINVITED PASSENGERS. No one other than the requesting rider and the rider's guests are permitted in the vehicle during a trip.
IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. Most ride-hailing apps have emergency features that allow riders to call 911 directly from the app. Stay calm and share your location and trip details with the dispatcher.
SHARE YOUR TRIP DETAILS. Send a friend or family member your trip status. If something happens during your ride, someone will be able to find your location quickly and provide help.
TRUST YOUR INTUITION. If something doesn’t feel right, do not enter the vehicle or opt to end your trip early. Find a populated area or open business where you can safely wait for another driver, and don’t forget to share the details of your experience.

TAKE YOUR TRASH. Play an active part in preventing surface transmission of germs and bacteria. Do not leave discarded items behind for the driver or next rider.
SHARE THE ROAD. Always look both ways before exiting a vehicle, and keep an eye out for bicyclists, cars, pedestrians, and scooters. Opt to exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side.
PROVIDE FEEDBACK. Rate and review your trip to help future riders. If you had an unpleasant experience, share your review on the app and proceed to contact the service provider with details about the trip.
DO NOT PAY WITH CASH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Drivers should not request cash payment from riders. If you choose to tip your driver, do so in-app after your ride has ended.

18 YEARS OR OLDER TO RIDE - Passengers must be at least 18 years old to ride unaccompanied in a vehicle. Adults cannot request rides for children under the age of 18, or allow children to ride alone. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
